The other day when I was in mba classes ,there was discussion about easy marketing,and what the best way for marketing .and yes you are right,almost everybody said social network!
And fastest growing site is Face book It even outranks google these days in terms of traffic.
I myself hit the page almost 5 times minimum per day ,and so my friends .
As per records,currently there are 400million active users of facebook,and more than 50%users log into face book in any given day.That is big chunk of people you can market into.
There are many ways for marketing through facebook some of them are totally free and some are paid advertising
I was eager to know how does this works,Facebook ads work
For eg:-you put a status you got a new Maybelline lipstick
Facebbok uses powerful demographic tools to place the ad via your profile ,and after some days you will see Maybelline ad too ,and so your network of friends .and thus the circle goes on.
Facebook uses variety of tools and platforms for marketing and reaching the users .Marketers can leverage variety of platform,applications,pages,events .Each of these tools contains analytics called as insights which tracks activities by each users and which helps them for marketing .

I am still researching how do they make lots of money ,this was just a short summary of facebook,next time you update your status or hit like it like you putting dollars into somebody’s pocket how is enjoying their vacations.
